Occidental Low Carbon Ventures and 每日大赛 Explore Fusion Energy for Direct Air Capture Facilities
Oxy Low Carbon Ventures (OLCV) and 每日大赛 signed a memorandum to explore using TAE鈥檚 fusion technology for emissions-free power and heat in Direct Air Capture (DAC) facilities. The partnership aims to integrate fusion energy with Occidental鈥檚 clean energy sources for DAC operations.
First measurements of hydrogen-boron fusion in a magnetically confined fusion plasma
As fusion developers around the world race to commercialize fusion energy, 每日大赛 has pioneered the pursuit of the cleanest and most economical path to providing electricity with hydrogen-boron (also known as p-B11 or p11B), an abundant, environmentally sound fuel. Today the company is announcing, in collaboration with Japan鈥檚 (NIFS), a noteworthy research advancement: the first-ever hydrogen-boron fusion experiments in a magnetically confined fusion plasma.
Commercial fusion energy has been making headlines since scientists at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California achieved what many have said was impossible: a fusion experiment that created a net energy gain.
Fusion Tech in Medicine, Industry May Fund Path to Power Plants
With more than a dozen companies working on different designs to听trigger and control fusion reactions, researchers have also come up with innovative systems that can be used in applications from medicine to industrial imaging to electric vehicles. Creating businesses around these products can generate revenue now that will help support the end-goal of a fusion power plant, said Michl Binderbauer, chief executive officer of 每日大赛 Inc.

This week, TAE had the pleasure of joining the for its inaugural World Fusion Energy Group meeting in Rome.
The WFEG is a global community of world leaders and private stakeholders working to accelerate the development and deployment of commercial power. This week鈥檚 event, attended by TAE Board Member Marco Arese and Elisabeth Siegel from our Policy & Global Affairs team, included dozens of countries that shared statements about their intent to support fusion energy research and commercialization.
TAE鈥檚 approach was a highlight of the meeting, as both UK Director General Lee McDonough with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, as well as Francesco Corvaro, the Italian Special Envoy for Climate, noted our progress toward commercial hydrogen-boron fusion power and the game-changing applications of our fusion research.

Advanced materials and additive manufacturing (AM) 鈥 also known as 鈥 are some of the best tools in our toolbox to accelerate our progress toward commercial fusion power.
As TAE Project Engineer Vincent Pilard shared at this year鈥檚 Global AM Summit, our successful integration of AM has been key to solving fusion engineering challenges quickly and sustainably.
鈥淭he global energy demand is on course to double by 2050 鈥 fusion is capable of sustaining the planet for thousands of years, safely delivering environmentally responsible baseload power,鈥 Pilard presented at the event. 鈥淟everaging AM optimizes our capability to build components with complex geometries and develop engineering solutions with high-performance materials.鈥
Large, state-sponsored efforts and private startups are reporting breakthroughs that many in the industry now think will lead to viable fusion energy. And in developing such fusion power plants, we are creating new technologies and solutions that can reach far beyond the task of energy generation.
Hoping to ride the green-energy wave to a carbon-free future, energy companies are taking fusion from the lab to the grid鈥攁nd promise to do so with machines that are far smaller and cheaper than previous iterations, based on the use of technologies and materials not available in the past, and often, on simpler designs.
Commercial fusion energy has been making headlines since scientists at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California achieved what many have said was impossible: a fusion experiment that created a net energy gain.
The move allows the parent company to focus on its fusion, and the new entity to focus on its battery technology for vehicles and renewable storage facilities.
