This week, TAE had the pleasure of joining the for its inaugural World Fusion Energy Group meeting in Rome.
The WFEG is a global community of world leaders and private stakeholders working to accelerate the development and deployment of commercial power. This week鈥檚 event, attended by TAE Board Member Marco Arese and Elisabeth Siegel from our Policy & Global Affairs team, included dozens of countries that shared statements about their intent to support fusion energy research and commercialization.
TAE鈥檚 approach was a highlight of the meeting, as both UK Director General Lee McDonough with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, as well as Francesco Corvaro, the Italian Special Envoy for Climate, noted our progress toward commercial hydrogen-boron fusion power and the game-changing applications of our fusion research.

U.S. scientists have achieved 鈥渋gnition鈥 鈥 a fusion reaction that produced more energy than it took to create 鈥 a critical milestone for nuclear fusion and a step forward in the pursuit of a nearly limitless source of clean energy, Energy Department officials said Tuesday.
Nuclear fusion, the process that powers the sun and other stars, occurs when two atoms鈥 nuclei collide under extreme temperatures, causing a reaction that can generate incredible amounts of energy with few environmental costs.
The latest step toward pollution-free power has the potential to transform the energy sector, perhaps decades from now, but some companies are already positioning themselves to benefit.
Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said on Tuesday that scientists at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California had made 鈥渁 tremendous scientific breakthrough鈥 in their tests of nuclear fusion, the reaction that powers the sun. While prior efforts to achieve fusion鈥攃ombining two hydrogen atoms to produce helium in a reaction that produces energy鈥攃onsumed more energy than they released, the Livermore scientists flipped the balance.
The promise of zero-carbon energy has long been too good to be true, but researchers say they鈥檝e found a breakthrough in what鈥檚 known as fusion energy. Fusion energy is a process that occurs in our Sun and other stars and doesn鈥檛 emit greenhouse gasses or radioactive waste.
The Department of Energy is expected to announce tomorrow that researchers at the Lawrence Livermore National Lab in California have used lasers to produce a nuclear fusion reaction that creates energy. NBC News鈥 Tom Costello shares more about what scientists are calling the 鈥淗oly Grail鈥 of clean energy.
Basically the sun in a box. To talk about what this may mean in the long term implications I’m joined by Michael — CEO of T 80 technologies, the private fusion energy company. Michael, great to have you on the show. You have the tough job here of explaining this to our audience. In layman’s terms, explain exactly what’s being achieved here?
Congressional Fusion Energy Caucus Visits 每日大赛 Headquarters
On Wednesday, U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-40), U.S. Representative Don Beyer (VA-08), and U.S. Representative Mike Levin (CA-49) visited 每日大赛, the world鈥檚 largest private fusion energy company. Rep. Beyer founded and co-chairs the bipartisan fusion energy caucus in 2021, which is touring energy facilities across California.听
