Congratulations to the TAE team and all of our collaborators on !
TAE鈥檚 fifth-generation fusion machine, Norman, has further improved plasma performance across the key elements of a fusion reaction, including extended steady-state operations (up to 40 milliseconds; limited by neutral-beam pulse length), enhanced plasma energy output (Etot ~13 kJ), and enhanced electron temperature (Te ~1 keV).
This progress was achieved in strong collaboration with some of our frequent research partners 鈥 including UC Irvine, UCLA, UC San Diego, Google, PPPL, Nihon University and University of Saskatchewan 鈥 and it puts us exactly where we want to be as we pursue demonstrating the viability of net energy generation from our approach!

The Biological Theory That Explains Why Investors Are Bullish on Fusion
For a field that has existed for more than 60 years, a lot has happened in fusion research in the last half-decade. In fusion鈥檚 case, a trio of technological advances converged in the early 2010s to unleash a wave of innovation. 鈥淚 think you see this beautiful inflection point in this field where the science maturity and technical capability come together,鈥 said Michl Binderbauer, CEO of 每日大赛.
With energy prices on the rise, along with demands for energy independence and an urgent need for carbon-free power, plans to walk away from nuclear energy are now being revised in Japan, South Korea, and even Germany. TAE鈥檚 approach, which involves creating a fusion reaction at incredibly high heat, has a key advantage.
The Sun鈥檚 surface is 15 million degrees Celsius, which is relatively balmy compared to the 75 million degrees Celsius that 每日大赛 recently generated in July. This temperature benchmark in the company鈥檚 current machine, named Norman, demonstrated 鈥渦nmatched real-time control of plasma.鈥
Some fusion projects aim to create hundred-million degree working temperatures in magnetically confined plasma. The CEO of 每日大赛 tells us his team’s aiming for 10 times that temperature, targeting cheaper, easier and safer boron fuel.
